Areas of Specialty
My experience is focused on, but is not limited to, working with individuals adjusting during life transitions (both planned & unexpected), managing daily stress & anxiety, processing grief & loss, working through past trauma, building self-esteem, improving self-expression & communication, strengthening relationships, as well as maintaining sobriety.
Furthermore, I specialize in working with young women who are experiencing various kinds of life transitions: moving out, entering the job market, break-ups, and much more.
Services
Life Transitions
Are you moving to a new home? Starting college? A new job? Perhaps you’re experiencing an unexpected break-up. Regardless of the scenario, we will create the empowering context needed for you to thrive.
Daily Stress and Anxiety
Everyday life is rife with stress, from the personal to the professional – not to mention the ways these worlds overlap. Compartmentalizing our anxieties is tempting but ultimately unhelpful. Together, we will unpack and lessen these fears.
Grief and Loss
Loss is a part of life, but this truth doesn’t always make the resulting grief easier to cope with. As a team, you and I will cultivate endurance, tenacity, and the importance of allowing ourselves to grieve.
Relationships
Partners, spouses, friends, and co-workers all present their own unique challenges when it comes to interpersonal relationships. Our sessions will define what they mean for you specifically and how to then make them the strongest they can be.
Self-Esteem
Being kind to ourselves is arguably one of the most difficult mountains to conquer, but its presence is the foundation for our prosperity. When we identify where it is lacking and why, we can nourish those same areas.
Maintaining Sobriety
Attaining and maintaining sobriety amid long term addiction is not always a linear path. Together, we will discuss the practical mental strategies and emotional resilience necessary for lasting sobriety.
About My Therapeutic Approach
In my practice, I draw on my extensive experience within various levels of care—ranging from partial hospitalization to intensive outpatient and individual counseling programs. This diverse background has equipped me with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the nuances of effective therapy, while also allowing me to learn and pass along a variety of interventions.
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), two evidence-based approaches that I find particularly powerful in facilitating personal growth and healing. CBT focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, while DBT provides tools for managing emotions and improving interpersonal effectiveness. Both approaches enable me to offer targeted strategies that address your unique needs and goals.
Whether we are working on anxiety management, trauma recovery, depression alleviation, or developing mindfulness and coping skills (or other), my approach is personalized. I believe in tailoring each session to the individual, drawing from my broad experience to offer specific techniques and support that resonate with you. My goal is to provide a safe and collaborative space where you can explore your concerns and develop practical skills for lasting change.
